This piece is the result of a one week class taught by Clay Foster with Jennifer Shirley assisting at Marc Adams School of Woodworking. I want to thank Clay and Jennifer for their encouragement and direction throughout the week. Their confidence in me and excellent instruction are what made this piece possible.
The piece is special to me since it is my first artistic piece and my first piece to win a ribbon. It won First Place in Novice Class at the OVWG "Black" contest in June 2008. It was subsequently one of the selections representing Ohio at the AAW Gallery of Wood Art Regional Spotlight: Texas and Ohio Area Turners January 12- February 14, 2010 and is to be published in the AAW American Woodturner Magazine.
